Editmode
Hi, I am new to Affinity photo and I have a problem color correcting pictures from a wedding years ago. The only thing I have to work on are the prints in the photo book they have. No negatives available. I have scanned them and got rid of the red colorcast but I can't get the picture colors right. The suit the groom is wearing should be grey and the shirt also. Is there anyone who can help me get this right? kind regards Peter
Staff Gabe Posted September 17, 2018 Staff Share Posted September 17, 2018 Hi Peter, Welcome to the forums. I think you got it to a pretty good state. Personally, I don't think that the suit was gray to start with - it's darker than the shadow behind it. If it was gray, it would have been lighter. The way it looks now it's more or less how I would expect it to look. I would perhaps increase the saturation a bit but you're all good. Thanks, Gabe. Editmode
Thanks for your reply Gabriel, But this is the suit from a picture that had the negative available. And the shirt is also different.
Staff Gabe Posted September 17, 2018 Staff Share Posted September 17, 2018 Editing negatives is a different story. Bear in mind that printing it on photographic paper and scanning adds 2 more factors(printing on the paper and scanning the paper) that will decrease the quality/resolution. You can try a game gamma offset on your initial photo
Editmode
What do you mean by Game offset?
Staff Gabe Posted September 17, 2018 Staff Share Posted September 17, 2018 Gamma offset. Sorry. My spell checker kicked in and I did not notice. Check the screenshot I attached to my previous post.

Editmode
Ok, this is much better although the shirt is still blueish. But I can change that manually. Thanks for your help.
