We have two computers printing the same file to the same computer with wildly differing results.  The colours from one computer seem to be much brighter than the other - what settings should we be looking at to sort this out?

The reason it became apparent was that one computer was printing a logo at 70% transparency so we checked on the second machine and discovered that the photos on the second version were much darker (but the logo printed at 100%.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Hi Axilla,

Welcome to the forums :)

Could you confirm for me, you're printing the same file from two different computers to exactly the same printer? I'd recommend checking your print settings match, both within Affinity and in your OS settings, as one may be different from the other externally and could cause said resluts.

If possible, could you attach the file you are printing?

I'm not certain what you mean in regards to opacity, my apologies. Printing at less than 100% opacity will provide a lighter outcome due to the way printing on white paper works. Is your documents opacity set to different values on each of your machines?

Hi Dan

Thank you for your reply.

Just to confirm - 2 computers sending the same file to to same printer.

Computer A printed the top left logo at 70% opacity and the photos in bright colours.   I got involved to sort out the problem with the logo and re-saved the file with it set to 100% opacity.  When I printed it from Computer B, the logo was fine but the slide photo was much darker.  We then tried printing from Computer A and . . .

Just spoken to my colleague and it transpires that he was printing it as a PDF as he was getting an error message and the program crashed.  I have now reported it.

Now I just need to work out what is going on with the opacity setting when printing via PDF - any thoughts?
