Mon in Oz
Hi I've recently purchased the Affinity Photo Windows version and downloaded it to my PC, however when I try to install it I get a message saying Infinity installer has stopped working. I have Windows 8.1 on my PC. I tried running in in compatibility mode for Windows 8 but got the same message. Any suggestions please? Thanks Monica
Staff stokerg Posted September 12, 2018 Staff Share Posted September 12, 2018 Hi Mon in Oz and Welcome to the Forums, If you can remove any compatibility settings you have enabled on the download and then see this post if the steps mentioned in that post fail to get Affinity installed, then see this post to generate a log file and send it over via private message to me and i'll be able to help further
Mon in Oz
Hi Thanks for helping. I removed all compatibility settings, then I restarted, then run as Administrator and got to the User Account Control screen and said Yes to allow changes to be made, and then got the Infinity installer has stopped working screen again. I then used the Run Dialog box to try and find the log files for you but it said the folder was empty.

Very odd for there to be no log files and that would point to something stopping our installer before it's even started. Did you follow the steps to generate the log file? As shown in this video? Mon in Oz
I looked at the video and you are correct - the installer doesn't even start. I never get to that Affinity window box. After I type in the /log and hit Ok, nothing happens.
JSmith0006
Did this issue ever get resolved? I'm having the same issue and I can't find any resolutions in the forums. Just a bunch of dead posts.

JSmith0006
None of those things resolve the issue. Windows 8.1 , 64-bit, first install, cannot create a log, have attempted as administrator, restarting, not in compatibility mode, "Affinity Installer has stopped working" is the message I'm receiving.
