Paul Martin
I have created an svg file (in DrawPlus, as it happens) and am seeking to import it into Designer. There appears to be a couple of hundred k of content, but the file is empty when viewed in Designer. I've repeated the exercise several times, but with the same result. What's up, Doc? Paul Martin
Well, I still don't know why that didn't work but I later discovered that converting the DrawPlus file to curves beforehand produced a smaller svg file that Designer can read. Wosven
Hi, Seems it's because your SVG file doesn't contain the PNG it's refering to. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> <svg version="1.1" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" width="605.76" height="114.24"> <image id="dp_image001" transform="matrix(1,0,0,1,-80.988,-123.992)" fill="none" x="75.868" y="118.872" width="616.96" height="124.48" xlink:href="DrawB577_images/DrawB577_001.png"/> </svg> Converting to curves was the answer (if you open your new SVG file in a text editor, you should see much more code.) Paul Martin
Thank you Wosven. That handily reminded me that I never understood SVG files. I didn't appreciate it was one of those "container" formats, i.e. not really a "vector format" as such.
