First test ride out, not to shabby.

Best Birthday Ever!!  Thanks Affinity.  I have been patiently waiting for Publisher Beta to be release. 

OK…I watched the tutorials and jumped right in creating a 3-page newspaper layout starting with master pages. Needed to set up column grids and add page numbers.  Trying the drag and drop method to apply the master pages (to see if it worked), it did on pgs. 1 and 2, but pg. 3 had the grids, not the page number. Finally had to right click and apply it and the page number appeared.

Added a CS6 Illustrator logo to the top with no problem. 

Placed a CS6 Photoshop image for front page, no problem.

However is there a way to select the image inside the box to make it larger to crop out some of the image.  Adjusting the box itself to make the image bigger then adjusting the box back to original size doesn’t work.

Opened fonts need in Extensis/Suitcase, no problem.

Added headline text, couldn’t grab a selected corner of text box to enlarge text to fit area, needed to go to the character menu to adjust size.

Body copy, with text box selected using the black arrow tool, moving the box lagged then popped into place. Had a difficult time placing it.

Grouping selected items, had to click on each item individually.

The black arrow tool, when dragged across several items doesn’t group them together.

Spell check highlights the mistakes, no pop-up menu appears to make the correction.  Spelling option is a separate menu. Is it possible to put them together?

Bleeds. All 3 master pages and 1document page show bleeds. Page 2 and 3 of the documents aren’t showing bleeds.

First test ride out, not to shabby.

Sorry the delay getting back to you. We have been quite busy trying to address all reports/feedback since Publisher's Beta release and are still catching up. Thank you for your feedback.

Regarding your points:

You can either double-click the picture frame with the Move Tool selected to select the image inside and transform it as any other object, or single click the picture frame with the Picture Frame Tool selected and use the control(s) that appear on the bottom centre of the screen to manipulate the image.

You have to use the "detached" handle on the bottom-right corner of the text frame to scale the text rather than reflow it (which is what happens using the regular handles).

Are the objects in different layers? And if so have you disabled the Edit All Layers button on the bottom left of the Layers panel? Without seeing the file it's difficult to guess what may be going on.

Right-click over the highlighted word and pick the correct suggestion from the top of the contextual menu that will appear. For regular text spelling (all text block) go to menu Text ▸ Spelling ▸ Spelling Options... as you seem to have discovered already.

There was quite a few improvements here since your original report. Please update to the latest Beta build (1.7.0.139) and let us know if you are still experiencing issues with bleed.
