Yes you can yust drag the picture in thelayerspanel to the shape untill you get a blue line under the shape

or place the image above the shape then ctrl x ,select the shape and ctrl alt v

Yes, this is an additional method, just as Christoph said. And both of these methods are notably different, for converting a shape into a picture frame will enable the automatic scaling and resizing methods for the placed contents. Of course, you won’t be able to use these methods when you opt for the “traditional” way … :)
