1.7.0.58 new default link images does not work

Recommended Posts

Thank you for implementing this requested default setting!

But... it does not work for me.

  • I replaced my first beta with this new one,
  • started with ctrl and reset everything.
  • I did NOT open an old beta file. Instead I made a fresh new one.
  • Changed the setting to link images by default
  • placed an tif-image per drag and drop from finder
  • opened resource manager -> shows as embedded.
  • placed a second file (PDF) per drag and drop
  • same
  • in Resource manager clicked make linked
  • clicked on the desktop to change to Finder -> Pub crashes immediately
  • Main machine: iMac 2019 (21,5-inch 4k, 6core), 64GB RAM, 1TB nvme + 2TB ssd, running on Mac OS 14 Sonoma;
  • Display setup: 28" 5k Display (primary) + 21,5" iMac4k-Display for studio panels (secondary);
  • Keyboard layout: german apple extended keyboard (aluminium);

If you mean this per document setting ...

... then it works for me for Picture Frame layers. It also works on regular placed images, except that for them only the "Replace Image" feature results in an embedded image that replaces the original linked image.
