roberthutchinson
I am hoping that there will be a feature to be able to edit a photo/image within publisher such as in InDesign. All it needs to do is push you to Affinity Photo for editing and then updating the image in Publisher when saved in Photo. I have finished a book in publisher and noticed that I need to erase some erroneous lines in 55 pages. It is very cumbersome to delete the images and then fix them in photo and then re-introduce them back into publisher.
carl123
Publisher supports Automatically Updated Linked Images (if enabled by you) So you can edit them in Photo, save them, and publisher will automatically show the new image At this time you cannot fire up Photo from within Publisher so you have to do that externally but that will come soon Eugene Tyson 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. mac_heibu
This functionality isn’t available in all depth for the moment, because it needs an update (1.7) of Affinity photo. (The respective icons are already present (top right of the application window.) Uups, to slow, as often!

In my experiments I was warned that the linked image had changed, but I had to use the Resource Manager to update it in the Publisher document. I hope that will change in future betas. carl123
So far I have been impressed with the automatic updating of the image by Publisher but have not tested it in depth so you could be right. I will keep an eye out for that PS Do you have it set in preferences to "Automatically update linked resources......" spidermurph
The round-trip editing between Affinity Designer and Photo are flawless and a pleasure to use. I'm sure after the 1.7 update this will also be the case in Publisher.
fde101
I'm wondering if Designer and Photo will support multi-page documents in order to handle the round-trip with Publisher. Support for multi-page documents in Photo would be a rather unusual but not unwelcome feature for that kind of app.
roberthutchinson
My images are embedded. Is there a way to change them to linked to do the editing and then re-embed them such as is possible with InDesign?
roberthutchinson
I found it in the resource manager. I am all set now.
