Will Affinity run on a model Macmini3,1?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

this is my first post here (hooray!  :D )

A friend of mine once showed me a cool program called Affinity Designer. I was so amazed how much easier it was to use than Adobe Illustrator. It was so smooth and just wonderful in every way.

So I thought about getting it for myself. The problem is, I'm a Windows user. But this program seems so good that it's worth getting a Mac for myself.

I was wondering will Mac Mini run this smoothly? (Late 2009) And would adding 2gb more RAM help?

There would be a nice offer on a local site here, used one for 200€. And I don't know anything about Macs so...

Here are the specs of it:

Processor: 2,26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
RAM: 2 GT
Hard drive: 160Gb
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9400, 256 Mt
SuperDrive DVD-drive
Model: Late 2009- Bought : 4.3.2010

It'd come with Snow Leopard installation disk, but it has preinstalled Yosemite 10.10.1.

Thanks in advance!

I´m running Affinity Designer on a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook (late 2008), 8 GB 1067 MHZ DDR3, Geforce 9400M 256MB, and a Samsung SSD 840 Pro 256 GB.
So the config you described would run it, but adding more 2GB RAM would certainly help a little.

The minimum system requirements are:

- Intel processor with 64-bit support.
- Mac OS X Lion (10.7.5) and above.
- 2GB RAM
- 325MB of available hard-disk space
- 1280 x 768 display

Fingers crossed, but as a guess (that's all it is) you should be alright. As a long term DrawPlus user (Windows only) AD has done the hardest thing possible and got away with it: DrawPlus on the Mac AKA Affinity designer. :D  :D  :D  :D  :D , as MEB says...More RAM is always better.

MacBook pro, 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB, OS X 10.11.6
