Weird disappearing trick

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am a new user of Affinity Photo and would be very impressed other than for one really frustrating bug. The image I am working on frequently simply slides off the canvas leaving one small corner left on display - always on the top left corner. The rest of the canvas is shown with the checkerboard canvas. This behaviour is triggered at any random point of editing - I might be using the brush, or zooming, or pretty much anything. Once the image slides off the canvas, it is impossible to get it back. Nothing works - move tool, zooming, not even resetting the history to the very first step.

It doesn't happen every time I use Affinity Photo, but often enough to make it completely frustrating and hugely annoying if I am at an advanced stage of editing.

I am attaching a screenshot of the latest instance to show what I mean. Sadly, I am close to giving up:-(

I am using an iMac Pro running OS 11.1.2

Hi Alan_B

This looks like a known issue that is caused by screen DPI. Could you go to Preferences > Performance and change Retina Rendering from Automatic (Best) to Low Quality (Fastest) and let me know if this solves it for you.

Thanks!
