Update style from paragraphs

Recommended Posts

An important feature is "Apply style_name then next styles", but it's just above the "Update style_name from paragraphs".

This option should be lower (before "xxx" or better "after "create style…") for avoiding messing our styles.
It's mainly use when creating a document, but later, when working on different releases of this document, we won't use it, and it's best to keep it away :)

Same problem with the icons at the bottom of the Text styles panel:

I suspect even experimented graphists would do the error in a rush. I'd rather have those options  hidden in a menu instead of at the bottom of the panel.

Options for applying styles/overidding modifications, etc. seem more usefull in a day to day workflow.

You can apply styles just by clicking on them in the list. You can override local modifications by clicking on the button that looks like a T in a circle at top-right. (It's positioned there to be next to the window that shows what the local formatting is.)

Thanks @Dave Harris ,

But it seems a little bit too sublte for now: the hightlighted icon should be bolder too so we don't miss it.

And the icon is hightlighted only if you select the modified part of the paragraph, not when you click in an unmodified part, or select all the paragraph.
Some modifications can be invisibles at first (tracking, hyphenation…), but it should show with a "+".

If all the paragraph is modified, it shows:

But not if the cursor is in text that wasn't modified:
(the cursor doesn't appeared in the screenshot)
