mistertimman
I am sorry if this is obvious, but I am a complete novice when it comes to Publishing. However, I have had a go and like what I see. Is it possible to insert a picture into a shape? If so how is it done please? Also if it is not possible, could it be made possible? Cheers, Tim
Michael117
How about this: insert a picture frame. Click Replace Image and pick the image. on the Layers tab (on the right context menu) add a new layer Draw the shape on the new layer Move the image layer under the shape layer. See Image below. walt.farrell
Good idea, @Michael117. You don't even need the picture frame. You can draw the triangle, then simply Place an image (be sure to drag the Place tool to scale it, so it's all visible). Then in the layers panel just move the image into the triangle layer. Then use the image frame to finish scaling the image so it fills the triangle. mistertimman
Hi, Michael and Walt many thanks for your responses. I will give this a go tomorrow. Tim
walt.farrell
Even easier: Draw a triangle with the Triangle tool. Then use Layer > Convert to Picture Frame and then use the Place Image tool to put your image into the triangle-shaped picture frame. mistertimman
Wow, Thanks Walt, that one I can do! For some very "Senior" reason I could not manage the other two. I kept ending up with a grey triangle that blotted out the photo. Can you or Michael explain what I was doing wrong before, please? Sounds like you had the triangle filled with a color, rather than empty. mistertimman
Yes, it was a mastery of the colour chart that I needed. It's handled now. Thanks again, Tim
