aartjan.nl Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 If a text or paragraph style gets a PLUS, please enable ALT-click or other method on this PLUS to overrule changes to text and return to the pure style
Dave Harris Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Are you aware of Text > Reapply Text Styles? There is also a Reset button at the top-right of the Styles panel, next to the window that you expand to see the local differences.
MikeW Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Alt/Option clicking is more convenient/faster though. And while a p.style that has had changes in it is reflected in the drop down area at the top of the p.styles panel, it is not where my eyes first look--I first look to the style in use. Though not necessary, it would be nice to see the + symbol beside the style name. The drop down panel is great for listing what is different, but the + indicator on the used style would be also nice. Thanks for all the work on text styles, Dave. I very much appreciate it. Mike
aartjan.nl Posted September 2, 2018 Author Posted September 2, 2018 i can't seem to find the Reset Button. Text > Reapply Text Styles did not work correctly. What I did is: I made 2 linked text frames. Resized the first frame, with the contents. Text is bigger. But I can't make the text the same size again as in the second frame, not even with a style. Normally I would ALT-click the "PLUS" n the style.
aartjan.nl Posted September 2, 2018 Author Posted September 2, 2018 It has to do with the resizing of the frame: the frame remembers the Font Size Change, and you cannot undo this, not even with Styles, or with Reapply. Normally I would do: ⌘A and then just apply a style, or Alt-click the Plussed style.
