Some ideas and requests (analog to Indesign) for the Affinity Publisher beta

Recommended Posts

Hello,

congrats to your Affinity Publisher beta. Fast, easy and very simple and efficiency, but...

1.) the ressource manager (pictures, etc.): I think, It would be better, that the ressource manager would be better accessible as a symbol in the symbol bar or as a panel (like pages, layers, character, ...) than over the menu. It would be better that every picture can be edit in its every software (like affinity photo oder designer) because it is a bit confusing to work in the illustration or picture in publisher and not in designer or photo. See my screenshot of InDesign.

2.) To work with grids - it must be better to work and manage with grids. To choose it and tap the wished measure in the unfortunately missing information panel (like indesign). See my screenshot in InDesign.

3.) To work with pictures or other media - it´s a bit confusing, it must be simple like InDesign, or I have not yet found out how to work better with it. :)

Nevertheless: a very good work and I´m very impressed of Affinity Photo and Designer... :)

Congrats,

Nick

Ah, I have found now the grid manager, a bit better. But handling in the document would be better... :)

To handling with Place Image Tool and Picture Frame Tool - I think it would be the same thing? Only with Picture Frame Tool you can get a picture in it - on the way with to convert some forms with the menu item "Convert to picture frame" is it a bit tricky. In InDesign you can get every picture in every form.

But: performance very good and very fast! I like it! :)
