catlover
Tried to put some filler text inside a circle. Button on Text Wrap menu "Inside" doesn't work.
Staff AdamW Posted August 31, 2018 Staff Share Posted August 31, 2018 Does your circle have a fill? If so try reducing the opacity to see the text, or alternatively, put the circle behind the text. mac_heibu
catlover
Tried all : Filled circle, empty circle, in front, behind. None of them work. Must be doing something wrong, can't figure out what, though. I'm trying to get the filler text inside the circle, that's the idea. Please have a look at the attached file when you have a minute. Thanks. Inside_circle.afpub
Dave Harris
In that document, the circle is set to wrap Tight. If I change it to Inside, it works for me.
PeteHawk
Look under your layers panel. Your Curve and text Frame are both "equal" (sorry not sure how to describe this). Drag the text frame so it a child of the Circle.... See screen shots and feel free to improve my description!
mac_heibu
Open your document. Open the „Layers“ panel. Select the circle („curve“) Open the „Text Wrap“ panel Click on „Inside“. Done.
catlover
Got it. Also made a mistake by Grouping text & circle. Once ungrouped, followed your suggestions : it works like advertised. Thanks ALL !!
carl123
It seems to work the same whether the text and circle are grouped or not To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

That is about clipping the text to a circle. Having the text wrap inside a circle is something different.
PeteHawk
Fair enough... I'll consider myself reprimanded!
Champat
"Tried to put some filler text inside a circle." Why didn't you draw a circle with the "Elipse tool" and converted it to a "Text frame" in the Layer menu ?
