Portable Documents with Linked Images?

Recommended Posts

Will there be some assistance when I save a Publisher document  to a different computer, when the document is containing linked — not embedded — images? Will Affinity Publisher give a warning? Or save the linked files in a subfolder?

I think I have to take care myself in this case and have to change the status of all  linked images to "embedded" in the Resource Manager, don't I?

I can imagine situations where you are opening a .afpub file on a different computer and realize that you are missing all the linked images (living on the other computer).

I think you would have to move & relink the files yourself.

However, your question inspired me to see if APub would allow me to embed files from cloud storage (iCloud Drive for me) & then change them to linked files. It does do that & it seems to work OK. Obviously, if you need to do this with a lot of large files, it would necessitate buying/renting a lot of cloud storage space & requires a speedy internet connection to be practical, but it might be useful if you wanted to work on a document on a laptop while traveling or something.
