Alabaster
I'm sure there's a way, and I've just missed it, but is there any way to combine two separate curves, making them one? Also, does this work with closed figures? Basically, on a drawn figure, I have a head and a body, both separate curves, both close figures. I need to cut out part of the head where the "neck" would be and do the same to the body, then join those two gaps, heaving a whole figure and keeping the original shape of both of them. misc33
(Hope it's ok to comment on an old post, I'm new here) The second link isn't working - "Join Curves always joins end to end". It would be wonderful to see details tutorials for using the pen tool to join separate lines and curves. This issue is the main thing keeping me in Illustrator at the moment. If I can't use the pen tool to click on one open node to activate it then click on another open node on a separate shape to join them, I'm spending way too much time and it's a deal breaker for me. BTW, what Alabaster is trying to do sounds to me more like something for a pathfinder function. Can AD do that? Combine two closed shapes that overlap into one closed shape that doesn't show the overlapping portions? Quote MacBook Pro 15" 32GB RAM, iPad Pro 12.9" + Magic Keyboard, Apple Pencil. Staff MEB Posted February 11, 2015 Staff Share Posted February 11, 2015 Hi misc33, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) This thread is very old (it's from the initial betas before the Mac App Store release) and doesn't reflect the state of the program anymore. For more information and tutorials about Affinity Designer check this link. I also advise you to take a look at Affinity Review (ezine). The first issue has some video tutorials that cover in detail the Pen Tool in Affinity Designer.
