Use Master Page Items within Document

Recommended Posts

From my limited use, and looking through the Forum, Master Page items and Individual Page items seem to live separate lives. A master page item appears on every page, but cannot be changed on ONE page without affecting ALL pages. This makes their usefulness limited.

Items placed on a master page should be edit-able on each Document page without changing the master page itself. Why must Master Pages and Document Pages co-exist without interacting at all? Although I have very limited experience with Affinity Designer, I would liken this request to un-linking a Symbol in one or more respects, but leaving all other instances of the symbol unchanged. I think that's a valid analogy (although my Designer experience is slim...)

Affinity Photo 2, Affinity Publisher 2, Affinity Designer 2 (latest retail versions) - desktop & iPad
Culling - FastRawViewer; Raw Developer - Capture One Pro; Asset Management - Photo Supreme
Mac Studio with M2 Max (2023); 64 GB RAM; macOS 13 (Ventura); Mac Studio Display - iPad Air 4th Gen; iPadOS 18
