DreamLight Images
Hi. Is it possible to add a gradient to an existing Layer Mask? I have a layer mask and, whenever I try to add a gradient, the gradient replaces the existing mask. Thanks in advance. carl123
Try, right clicking your mask layer and select Edit Mask Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. AffinityFran
How about like this? (see attached .afphoto file). The additional gradient mask was created by using the gradient tool on a new pixel layer, then using Layers -> Rasterize To Mask and then dragging that mask down below the existing mask. Add Gradient To Mask.afphoto DreamLight Images
DreamLight Images
Hi AffinityFran. That works, thank you very much. In case the developers are reading this thread, here are my conclusions: - I was not aware of the "Rasterize to mask" option because it's not in the contextual menu. When I right-click on a layer in the Layers pane I expect all the relevant commands to be available there. - The method outlined by AffinityFran works but it's a bit convoluted. This is not a criticism to AffinityFran, but to AP. There has to be an easier way of editing a mask. I see a mask as just a bitmap, I should be able to add a monochromatic gradient without going through hoops. Thank you again for the great help.
