clarissa
So far, I've not found an option to "Paste Into" a vector shape or any shape at all. This is a really beneficial feature to Indesign that I'd love to see in Affinity! Maybe it's coming in the full release?
Staff Patrick Connor Posted August 30, 2018 Staff Share Posted August 30, 2018 clarissa Welcome to the Serif Affinity forum The layers tab can be used to clip any object to another object by making it a child object of the current one. Is this what you meant? Quote Patrick Connor Serif Europe Ltd Latest V2 releases on each platform Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! clarissa
Thanks Patrick. Technically, yes, I suppose that's what I'm looking to do, however the process seems like one more step than necessary. It feels like any shape should automatically be a frame, whether filled with a color or a photo. And once selected, it seems like I should be able to, with the mouse loaded with the image, click on the frame to paste it inside. Just a philosophical difference of opinion, but it would speed up workflow!
Barry_Edmiston
That changes the size of the image, so if you're trying to isolate one section of the image (my need) is of no use.
Fixx
As there is "paste inside" in AD I would think the same command could be also in Publisher. On the other hand, dragging a layer to another layers thumbnail to create a mask makes same effect as far as I can see.
