Selecting placeholder text

Recommended Posts

Can't seem to select part of placeholder text, only from the whole text box-full, might want to highlight a section as a pull quote for example.

This is becaise your placeholder text is considered as one piece so it automatically fills the frame as it's resized. As well as the above suggestion in the preferences dialog, you can also expand the placeholder text into real text by right clicking and selecting expand

Thanks both - OK, the preference option works - the Expand option vanishes once the text box is linked to another box. Hadn't realised the placeholder was dynamically filling the frame though, that's quite cool.

Not sure if I should start another topic about this -- there are already so many! -- but is there any way to override the existing text entered in Preferences > Filler Text to use the default Lorem Ipsum (or Alice in Wonderland) filler text instead, without deleting the text entered in Preferences?
