I can't find a way to use other shapes for text than a rectangle? I hoped I would have more options like a circle or even a pen drawn shape... Or at least the ability to round the corners and such. I hope you plan to expand this in the future?

I do like the way text wrap is handled, it is more flexible than Indesign.

Just draw any shape with any of the shape tools and click inside with the text frame tool. It even works with the elusive Cat Tool!

The great thing is that you don't have to convert these shapes to paths for it to work, meaning you can still adjust the parameters of a shape after you fill it with text. To edit shape parameters, you need to select the shape and activate the corresponding shape tool since the options bar for the select tool will from then on show the text settings.

Edit: Seems like StuartRc was faster than me :)

I cannot find anyway to fill an ellipse with text only the ability to follow the shape of the ellipse.

Please be aware that NSA/GCHQ are probably admiring my sent images

I'm having a problem with the Callout shapes, which seem the most obvious shapes to use as text frames : I can't find a way to get the tail on top of the shape without rotating it 180° and thus getting my text upside down :(

Any idea to rotate the shape and framed text independently ? Or a way to move the tail without rotating the shape ?

After rotating the Callout shape, either ‘add’ a smaller shape placed completely inside it or ‘intersect’ a larger shape completely enclosing it. This will give you a new, unrotated shape, so the text will be the right way up. :)

This was the next kind of things I was trying, but I hoped for a simpler way and a all-in-one object.

The best way I found until now is:

  1. create your Callout shape
  2. set its wrap style to Inside
  3. create your text frame
  4. set its boundaries to fit the shape ones
  5. group the shape and the text frame
