Designer crashing repeatedly when editing an imported (placed) PDF

Recommended Posts

I recently imported a pdf into Designer. I have been editing some of the text and it crashes repeatedly and fairly soon after I begin moving the text boxes, but not when editing them. I have attached a video of it happening and the crash report if that helps. Is this a bug in AD or is there a known problem with imported PDFs? I can send the offending file if I get a reply from AD tech support. Any help appreciated!

Hi toxlab,

Sorry to see this, could you please upload the pdf to the following like so we can take a look into this for you? :)

Unfortunately the file you've uploaded is a .tiff and not .pdf! Could you please try again for me? :)

No problem, thanks for that. I've managed to replicate this issue on both Mac and Windows and this certainly isn't expected behaviour. I'll log this file with our devs for them to look into, for the meantime, have you tried opening the pdf file rather than embedding it? I understand this is not always ideal but may be a workaround for now.
