Staff Dan C Posted August 28, 2018 Staff Share Posted August 28, 2018 Hi signsgeo, Welcome to the forums Are you trying to import, export or use the .afmacro file in a batch job? Unfortunately your question doesn't provide much context!
signsgeo
Hi Dan C, as a real novice, I am most often at a loss as to the question, to say the least "the answer". Having said that, I went to VIEW >STUDIO> to macrcoc, . on the small box ,left hand side, it took me to my documents, from there I was asked to enter a file. From there I was at a complete loss. Tried several entries to no avail. To put this in context, I had view a youtube showing the above steps to reach AFMACROS. I reviewed the video several times thinking I missed something, nothing. From there I went to my downloads could find nothing of any help. I hope this makes sense, because I'm at a loss. Thank you for your interest, George L. Quote . walt.farrell
You would import a .afmacro file (without an "s" on the end) using View > Studio > Macro, but you would import a .afmacros file (with an "s" on the end) using View > Studio > Library. Hi Walt, Signsgeo... This in-consistance plural (group) / single file confuses much men, me too, some month ago.... In this case its fast solved, but there are many other of "Inconsisty" in AP: Not at least the "preset-systemS", yeah its plural: - You can rename a style-name, but not move, or edit.... -You can move a gradient (but only inside a category)... And so on... Sometimes you can move inside category, sometimes outside, sometimes just rename.... sometimes move via mouse, sometimes (like macro-ctegory just ia up/down-stepbystep...) -However, You can never overwrite, just create a new, or category...but never a subcategory.... .....Mostly you can NOT overwrite a setting.... you have to create a duplicate and (trash the old one manually...) Except for the brushes ... For brushes the opposite will happen: All "temporarly changings" you do in the MORE-panel will take as NEW (overwritten) preset, however if you want (or mostly not).... as switch to another brush, the settings from the old one will overwritten, without any asking!!!! Espacilly for BRUSHES i dont want this. I want my "more" window as TEMPORARLY place... creating a "temporarly" brush... If i like fpr furrther... i can say "save" or "duplicate to(category)"... but in 93% I want the settings as "TEMP"!!!! On the other hand, AP is asking sometimes 3 times... for simple cmd+Z operations.... In Liquify, or other personas, or by refine mask... thats so silly.... .. ALL THIS "YOU ARE NOW LEAVING THE AMERICAN SECTOR"... warnings... all this duoble-three-time-say-yes... Alll of this i can UNDO! Also refine a mask... .. There is no necassary for this "are you sure asking" again and again and again...asking the same..." EVEN IF I DO WRONG : THERE IS always CMD+Z (and this multiply times)!!! (always????) BUTBUTBUT!!!!! EG. For EQUATIONS (or other fiters.... WHICH ARE REALLY NEEDS TIME, brain and so on, there is not the simplest ASK = an unintentional hit ENTER will perform the EQUATION... ok, cmd+z will undo, BUT.... the window is closed and there is no way to get a "x=(a-0.1)x10((b-0.5)x4))x(y*c)"... get back. Just an unintential HIT enter, and the line is "EVER" lost!!!! On the other hand there are dozens of annoying asks: Do YOU REALLY WANT..." for steps i can already cmd+z!!!!! Thats so stupid!!! Make the possibility for UNDO for STUFF where it is necessary, but let me my peace by "an action i have confirmed just 0.3 secondes ago, like make that mask, leave liqufy, debvelope... Te second ASK... is so annoying (am i stupid?????? - i said 0.2 secondes before i want to leave.... (with leave or via another "confirm" , "do" or whatever button - i have EXPRESSIVE click that button (and even if not... some cmd-z and i´m back.. ) (BUT: a "x=(a-0.1)x10((b-0.5)x4))x(y*c)" i can not recall.... and this happens by just a simple, 96% unwanted "hit enter", without any ask...) Thats sooooo stupid! Quote OSX 12.5 / iMac Retina 27" / Radeon Pro 580X / Metall: on! --- WWG1WGA WW!
