It is basically a warning showing you that "you have changed", "are about to change" or "paradoxically have not changed" one or more of the default settings found in any of the page presets available in the drop down dialogue for that option.

Simples, init.

The kick in the mutts is you cannot save your customised document as a preset! Why! why for the love of (whatever deity you believe in) but I have no idea why a basic function should be omitted.

There are workarounds like saving the newly created document as a blank document and using File > Save as... to save as an differently named document, or, converting the document to an Artboard if you have Affinity Designer and saving that Artboard as an Asset.

Just guessing, but maybe it is because there are so many different ideas about what should be "basic" functions that the developers decided that supporting an even more basic set was good enough to justify releasing the apps, & the rest could wait until the code could be reworked, better optimized, & more thoroughly debugged to support more of the others without compromising any of the existing stuff?

Agreed, but I think custom sized documents really are a very basic feature, I know Affinity use the last dimensions used when recreating a document but still to have the option of adding your own presets is a feature that should not have been omitted in a pro spec app. It will be interesting to see what 1.7 brings to the table.

I'm in it for the long haul.
