Smoke and Spirits
So I have been doing a lot of work with geometric designs with repeating rotational patterns and I found doing something as simple as rotating an equilateral triangle around its center point isn’t supported. The transform anchor is based off the bounding box surrounding a shape which gives a different centerpoint than the object itself. I’ve developed workarounds to this issue but the process could be simplified immensely. It would be great to add support to place your anchor anywhere, with the ability to snap to shape/curve anchors. This would allow some great and much needed freedom in the realm of geometric design especially and I’m sure it would be handy in many other illustrations as well. Wosven
Excuse me if I don't understand why you're drawing another triangle, but doesn't the option "reset selection box" on the "polygonal" triangle give the same center as your second triangle (or converting it to curves)? Wosven
No problem, sometimes we use longer pathes than necessary!
Smoke and Spirits
Thank you so much for that. I’m still pretty new to the program. Picked up most things pretty quick but I cannot often figure out many of those individual tool options. Be nice if they mentioned somewhere what those different options do. Tutorials are still limited and there is also no mention in the manual aside from the anchor point mover within the transform studio. still got plenty of love for the application though. Been making some pretty magnificent minimalist logos even without many of the illustrator tools I’m so used to. I do miss sculpting lines with the warp tool though that was always good fun. Any clue if they eventually plan on warp tools, or do they even have a warp mesh or anything similar? anudeep
