Document dimensions in inches like 7 7/8 x 10 3/8

Hi there,

I'm trying to set an exact document dimensions in inches like 7 7/8 x 10 3/8, but have no idea how to type it without decimal point.

Any help appreciated.

Hi, iTosaf,

AFAIK, the dimension input requires decimal fractions. 1/8" = .125. Bit of a fuss for those of use who have used rulers w. fractions.

You'll have to do a bit of maths.

Divide the top number (numerator) of the fraction by the bottom number (denominator).

7/8 or 7 divided by 8 = .875

3/8 or 3 divided by 8 = .375

so you need to enter

7.875 x 10.375

Repeat that for any fraction you need to enter.

Maybe it will be better to convert to mm?  If the artwork is for printing then 200 mm × 263 mm should be accurate enough (200.025 × 263.525).

Just thought that there is a way to use fractions, but didn't know how.

In any dimensions box, just type the number and the fraction in this format: 2+(3/8):

 

 

Now press enter:

 

 

The fraction is automatically formatted as a decimal.
