TestTools
Hi; I have been plugging away on this for a while and it is getting close to what I imagine. There are still a few anomalies and still a few things I don't understand well enough. And, since I have designed this in a cave, I'm appreciating ideas on how if could be better...more accurate to the concept of blending 3 primaries and developing white in the center and 3 secondaries. I feel like the circle, when display the 3 colors by themselves is close but it isn't giving the yellow that I imagine should be showing. [Note: this is in DCI P3 since I am doing this for cinema...but I have changed color spaces in Affinity D and on my monitor and get somewhat the same results for yellow. The TIFF is in regular iMac P3, which is what I am using.) Ha! Solved two problems while writing them out...I want the white circle behind the colored circles and in front of the triangle so the circle doesn't pick up any colors from the triangle, but the circle was totally obscuring the circle when anything but NORMAL blending was applied. Putting the white circle in a separate layer and making the circle group PASSTHROUGH is the answer. The colors of the triangle fall off too quickly...form almost a halo. Well, begging your insights, how to make it more perfect. The triangle is OK since the flaws are hidden by the circle – the radial trick that works well with a circle doesn't fill up the center with enough color, while a straight edge doesn't work well either. And I'd like to be able to use the triangle alone perhaps. Anyway, I am having fun learning. This is my first time at blending. Thanks for any advices. TriCircP3.afdesign It looks good but I am not sure that the TIFF shows in the forum. TestTools
Thanks for making and posting the PNG. In the absence of specific advice, I'll just keep poking around to improve the between-the-primary gradients that should bring out the Yellow and Cyan and Magneta. Turning off the white background of the triangle takes away the halo. Anyway, thanks again.
