Type of Selected Node

Hi,

when I select a node there is no way to see what type od node it is. Can it be corrected?

The square tells you it’s a sharp node. A smooth node is indicated by a solid circle, and a smart node is indicated by a circle with a dot in the middle.

It would be much easier if the appropriate icon is with different background. It is not so easy to distinguish on a hi-res monitors which is which.

Now, we must remember what geometric shape represents which kind of node. The same as we have to guess which color of the icon has Photo -- pink one or the blue one. With Publisher it would be even worse. They could put some letter(s) on them.

Then you would have to click through the individual nodes to get to know the type.
The current solution provides information about the type of all nodes at a time.

 

But the error is, that the button icons do not use the appropriate symbols - everywhere there are circles.

When a node is selected the appropriate icon must by highlighted somehow (on a dark background, maybe). Cicles, squares and other polygons are poorly visible on hi-res monitors.

Well, the problem is that these buttons are “action type” buttons. And it is not true that the button would indicate the node type. Create a path with a cusp node that has outgoing Bézier handles. Then select this node and hit the Sharp button. You will see that the Bézier handles are retracted from this node, even if it remains a cusp node (though without handles now). So Sharp does not indicate the node type!

I would like, like in Corel, when I click the appropriate node icon to change the selected node type.

But then you would want to have a completely different interface element.
