Bruceki Posted August 18, 2018 Share Posted August 18, 2018 Hi, I have been through the various menu's and cannot find any reference to transparency other than the layer transparency. Also no reference in the help files that I could find. The shortcut key Y also does not do anything. Is this a bug or am I missing something. Very frustrating, so much time taken to find the tool to perform a really simple operation. Are the Vimeo tutorials out of date? R C-R Posted August 19, 2018 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Affinity Designer has a dedicated Transparency Tool. Affinity Photo does not. My guess is you were watching a Vimeo tutorial for Designer. To confirm then: There is no transparency feature in Affinity Photo (other than uniform layer transparency level) and editing has to be done in Affinity Designer. R C-R Posted August 19, 2018 Share Posted August 19, 2018 In Affinity Photo, you can use the Erase Tool, Gradient Tool, or the Color Opacity slider with shapes & brushes to create full & partial transparencies. In this various transparencies.afphoto file, all edits were done in AP.
