Guzzi
Good afternoon! I'm new here. I recently bought AP after working with Photoshop for many years. My wife and I take a lot of pictures. That's how I photographed more than 100 days this year. We use different cameras and recently also occasionally a smartphone. Unfortunately, this means that the original image formats are different. For example: 3648 x 2736 px 72 DPI 4000 x 3000 px 180 DPI 4864 x 3648 px 180 DPI 3968 x 2976 px 72 DPI So that I come in the post-processing of the images to approximately the same results, I have set up in PS the exemption tool (= cutting in AP) so that I use it in the course of editing all images in the format 13.33 x 10 cm = 1574 x 1181 px with 300 DPI. So far I have not found this option in AP. How can I achieve this? It is very tedious if I have to cut each individual shot while editing. Especially after vacation or travel I have to process 50-70 or more pictures every day. If my English is not correct, I apologize. Staff stokerg Posted August 20, 2018 Staff Share Posted August 20, 2018 Hi Guzzi, Going from the title of this post 'Specify document size' This video should be of some help, it is in English but covers resizing an image: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyWgvqdtQaE
Gnobelix
Hello Guzzi, so that your pictures are reduced to target size, would be the batch processing in connection with a macro my idea. Here is a tutorial on batch processing. Attached is simple macro for the image size 1574 * 1184 with 300 dpi Cheers Imagesize 1574x1184_300 DPI.afmacro Quote Affinity Photo 2.4: Affinity Photo 1.10.6: Affinity Designer 2.4: Affinity Designer 1.10.6: Affinity Publisher 2.4: Affinity Publisher 1.10.6: Windows 11 Pro (Version 23H2 Build (22631.3447)
Guzzi
Hi Gnobelix. Your suggestion could be what I imagine. However, I can not import your macro, probably because the file extension .afmakro is wrong. If I change these, however, on .afmakros comes an error message: = Unexpected macro format. Error loading the file "C:\Users\XXXXXX\ Download\ ...a.s.o." I am using Windows 7 Prof. Best Regards Guzzi Quote Windows 10 Prof.; Affinity Photo 1.7.3.481, Beta 1.8.0.
Alfred
The file extension is correct, but a *.afmacro file (which contains a single macro) must be imported via the Macro panel, not the Library panel. Guzzi
Hi Gnobelix! 1) I have now imported your first macro via the Macro Panel. But it did not work. 2) Then I imported Imagesize.afmacros via Library Panel. When I run batching with it, it WORKS AS WANTED. Thank you very much! Good Night. Guzzi
Hi Gnobelix! Unfortunately, I was happy too soon. In the meantime I have installed the current version 1.6.5.123. Batching with the Imagesize macro does change the pixels but not the DPI (should be 300). I would be glad about a correction. In addition, the change date does not seem to be entered in the EXIF data. Gnobelix
Hello Guzzi, usually the update should have no influence on the macro. The macro does not make any changes in the Exif data. In the attachment, the new macro I hope it works the way you imagine. Guzzi
Hi Gnobelix, again me. Two days ago I installed your new macro and it worked. Today I wanted to use it again, but only the pixel sizes are changed, but not the DPI. What can be the reason? The PC was restarted in the morning. I also deleted and re-imported the macro - no change. Greetings Guzzi Quote Windows 10 Prof.; Affinity Photo 1.7.3.481, Beta 1.8.0.
Guzzi
Hi Gnobelix! Now I've found a way to work with your macro. Although the switch to 300 DPI does not work in batch processing. But when I click on the macro individually for each photo, it does exactly what I wanted. This is a very good, simple and fast solution. Many Thanks. Is it possible to set a shortcut for it? Gnobelix
Hello Guzzi, I'm afraid that's not possible right now to create a shortcut for macros. I have started a batch process with the macro there were no problems. All images have a size of 1574 x 1184 px with 300 dpi. That's why I can not comprehend why it does not work for you. I'll take a closer look tomorrow.
