  1. Make sure the Background layer is selected in the Layers Panel
  2. Click on the Channel Panel (if not shown go to View > Studio > Channels)
  3. Below the composite channels right-click on either the red, green, or blue channel and select Create a Mask Layer.
  4. Right click on the newly created Mask Layer and choose Mask to Below

You could create masks for all the colours red, green and blue then group them and apply the group as a mask, I'm not sure whether that would work well but you can experiment to get the effect you want.
