skipper
Hi, I'm a newbie with Affinity but a veteran with Photoshop. I use an Olympus SLR and always shoot in raw. Windows Explorer does not recognise these files so when I want to open a file in Affinity I get a mass of icons but no thumbnails. Would it be possible to let users choose another asset manager such as Bridge, which is now a freebie? Apologies if this already possible but I haven't found it. Staff Gabe Posted August 16, 2018 Staff Share Posted August 16, 2018 Hi @skipper, You would need a codec pack from Windows to preview the raw files in Windows Explorer, as Affinity does not provide this function. Thanks, Gabe.
skipper
Hi Gabe, no codec is available for these files which is why I would like to use Bridge. Thanks, skipper
Staff Gabe Posted August 16, 2018 Staff Share Posted August 16, 2018 I think I might fully understand the issue. Why don't you use Bridge?
skipper
That is what I would like to do. When I select "Open File" in Affinity I would like it to go to Bridge rather than Explorer.
Staff Gabe Posted August 16, 2018 Staff Share Posted August 16, 2018 Oh right. I'm afraid you cannot change the File Explorer used by Open file. Sorry.
