Difference between desktop and ipad version

Hi mehmet adi and Welcome to the Forums,

Although you can perform most of the usual operations on the iPad version of Affinity Photo, certain functions are not available for different reasons (batch jobs, macros, Serifs Labs RAW engine, Photoshop plugins support).

With Designer, the export persona is a little different to the Desktop version but the main functions are the same.

what feature do you missed from desktop version when using on ipad?

I miss the ‘Coverage Map’ control for blend ranges in both apps, and Photoshop plugin support in Affinity Photo.

What I miss most is not being able to quickly go back & forth between a built-in help topic & whatever document I am working on with the iPad.

I also miss not being able to seamlessly switch between working on a document in Photo & Designer like with the desktop apps' File menu > Edit in Photo/Designer item. It can be done, but it is not seamless.

I miss the light user interface. To use the iPad versions of both, I have to stick stickers on the iPad edges or keep pressing the help (?) button.

if I didn’t own the desktop version I certainly wouldn’t have bought the iPad versions. As it it, I don’t use them that much.

Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.

I did the reverse, started with iPad version then bought a Mac to use desktop versions. I still prefer iPad version by miles but mainly because I like sitting in a comfy chair rather than hunched over a desktop or a laptop.

I also like sitting in a comfy chair, and I rarely use my Windows laptop on either my lap or a desk, as such. I’m much more likely to prop it up on the arm of the aforementioned chair, although I do sometimes put it on a small folding table if I want to type with both hands.

I used to use my laptop in bed, but the iPad has completely taken over there.
