michaelsboost
Is this possible in Affinity Designer? Quote "Procrastination is the enemy of productivity!" ~Michael
Guest
Hello michaelsboost, It is possible, draw the pattern and export it in PNG (selection without background). Then go to the "Brushes" tab of the studio, choose the category in which you will place the brush (or create a new one) and click on the "hamburger" to the right of the tabs and choose "New textured image brush". Then choose the PNG file you just created, the brush is created and added to the category. To apply it to a shape (or line), draw the shape and click on the brush in the studio. For the brush to be applied in color, put the line of the shape on transparent in the tab "Colour". Right click on the brush in the studio and choose "Edit brush..." and choose "Repeat" in "Body" so that the pattern repeats itself all along the shape. You can also make settings from the context bar at the top of the screen. I hope you find this useful.

Not as a brush, the only accepted format is PNG for the brush texture. D I'm afraid not, unless someone else can think of a creative way to implement this. Adobe’s Pattern Brush is very good and Affinity lack that refinement at the moment. Until Affinity up their game in the brushes department it’s Adobe Illustrator or some other app. Quote iMac 27" 2019 Somona 14.3.1, iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more...
