Wrap Photo Around a Pint Glass

Recommended Posts

I am attempting to "wrap" an image around another image of a pint glass. Is there a tutorial or other guidance on how to achieve the effect? I've spent some time playing with the different perspective effect filters without success. tia.

How the label will be presented is a significant question, I noticed on most every image it was flat facing, not rotated 3/4 shot. i.e. you get a bottle that has a label on it, now you rotate it 45º left or right.

Assuming that you are not aiming for 100% accuracy, I would use my macro as mentioned above, and then apply a combination of the Mesh Warp tool and a Crop to obtain the desired effect.

I suppose that, given some time, I could extend the macro to apply the image to a tapering glass.

Hello John,

I downloaded your file on Saturday and was unable to import it (the file was not highlighted as a format recognized by AP in the Finder selections -- Mac/Desktop).  This morning, I changed the extension from "afmacro" to "afmacros" which allowed AP to recognize the file, but it returned an Unexpected Macros Format error message. I will attempt more trouble-shooting as I am able as I am certain that your macro will deliver a better result than my kludge. thanks.

Change it back again! A *.afmacros file contains a collection of macros, to be imported via the Library panel; a *.afmacro file contains a single macro, to be imported via the Macros Macro panel.

Thanks for the guidance. I deleted my changed file and re-downloaded the .afmacro file, but I am still unable to have AP recognize the file. :-(

Sorry, that should have read “Macro panel”!

Please describe your steps. As long as you use the Macro panel, not the Library panel, a *.afmacro file should import OK.

I believe you can also drag and drop in the Mac version, but this doesn’t work on Windows and I don’t have a Mac on which to test this.

Ah. I was trying to import to the Library. Importing via the Macro panel worked. thanks.
