That’s a File Format (*.8bi) plug-in. Affinity Photo only supports Effects (*.8bf) plug-ins.

It always fascinates me that Transparency comes at the cost of a file "increase" in size when there is actually nothing there opposed to when something is there, so how can nothing be more than something lol!

Can't wait for quantum mechanics to be applied to file compression and we start to get minus file sizes because of the use of Dimensional Compression and Flat Space technology, this would be Ultra cool.

haha! Thats obviously why nothing is equal to something but in this case plus transparency ...

Thanks for reading.

For raster images transparency is something there that makes something else that is there appear not to be there ... or something :35_thinking:

So its not Transparency Per se but actually a form of digital glass, so even though it appears to be nothing it actually has substance.

Hmmm. Maybe a better analogy would be to the holes in a semiconductor crystal lattice, the locations where electrons could be but are not? Like the lattice, it is the raster image that has (virtual) substance & provides the context for the holes.

Or maybe "nothing" is just an illusion, the result of a quantum mechanical effect we cannot perceive directly, like the infinite Dirac sea of particles in what we think of as the 'nothingness' of a perfect vacuum?

Or more fundamentally, maybe it is that nothing is just something that is an artificial construction of the human mind?

There are a lot of ways to look at this, many of which make my head hurt if I think about them too much!
