Shortcuts randomly stop working

Recommended Posts

As the title says, I've had a problem ever since I got the program - at some point when Affinity is open, shortcuts stop working with it. As in, I can't Ctrl+X to cut, nor press P to select the Pen Tool, but I can still do stuff like moving objects by pressing on them and then using the arrow keys, or pressing Del to remove an object. Every time it happens I have to restart the program and then it's fine again.

I'm running Windows 8 if it's of any help.

I think there is an option to effectively reset the app back to defaults by pressing the Ctrl key while starting the app, this will lose you any customisations you may have set, including added brushes etc.

With CTRL key held, when the window appears, release CTRL and click the Clear button.

Added brushes, etc, are only lost if you explicitly opt to reset them by putting ticks in the relevant individual checkboxes or by pressing ‘Select All’. By default only the first three checkboxes are checked, and you may even find that the first of the three options does enough to fix the problem.
