Move tool, context toolbar, far right icon with lock symbol

I haven't been able to find out what the little icon on the Move tool's context toolbar does (a lock symbol within squares). I've watched the tutorial videos and played around with it but haven't found its purpose. Could someone please enlighten me?

Hi ChromaLinda

The icon you're describing is;

Lock Children - When enabled, any child object will remain fixed in size and position when it's parent object is transformed (moved, rotated, etc).

This information can be found in the help file built into the app, if you return to the home screen showing your projects and click the question mark (?) in the top right corner, then navigate to Tools>Vector Design Tools>Move Tool.
