Paekke
Hi the title says it all, I would love to have this option pavelkout
camloken
Please no. This is not a good idea. I've used illustrator for 20+ years and never once used the lasso tool. I could be wrong, but I think it's just duplicating functionality and will just add bloat to the interface. You could expand the functionality of the node tool and offer an advanced mode of opt+drag to do the same thing as the lasso. Honestly I don't think it's something you should add as an extra tool. I don't think it will get used often.
Paekke
Please no. LOL Well some kind of freehand selection method. Could be the node tool with an modifier key pressed option, not an bad idea. change it to an selection brush or whatever. just some way to select nodes fast that are not placed on straight lines. ronnyb
camloken
Yes, sorry for my negative comment. I realize what I'm suggesting would not be very discoverable by users. However I think this feature can be a learned thing as advanced users like myself don't even use this feature in illustrator. Would it be useful... absolutely. That being said, I am concerned about interface bloat. I think the developers at Affinity should consider customers comments, but I don't think we should drive the product. We can not see the whole roadmap, they can. And when it comes to new features they should be considerate of the interface and how to build it out. I'm sure the interface could get bloated very quickly, especially if they added every feature customers were asking for. I would rather see a clean, easy to use user interface where the features perform well, than a bloated, feature rich interface that breaks all the time. That is why I ask Affinity to carefully consider the roadmap. I hope that helps explain my point of view.

ronnyb
Functionality can be added without visual clutter. And Affinity products already allow us to customize the tool palette, so even if it's not implemented with modifiers but with it's own tool, one can take it off their palette... I myself would love to see it integrated both ways, but specially with a modifier key. Selecting groups of nodes is something I do all the time, and a Lasso can be much quicker in certain cases... @Camloken I want an clean interface too. camloken
Good point ronnyb. The tool could also be buried in a submenu similar to what Adobe does, but I also prefer to use modifier keys.
