Does anyone know if the nodes in AD on Mac desktop is compatible to paste into FontLab Studio?

Im designing a new typeface, and I’d like to design the letters in AD, then copy and paste the nodes into FontLab Studio..

i used to do this from Illustrator.. well, I had to do some adjustments after in FontLab but that’s ok..

Anyone? :-)

I use Typetool to create fonts (Fontlab app). I presume the software basics work the same, albeit that Fontlab Studio is more advanced.

In AffDesigner, create your glyph, then :

File>Export>EPS>More. Before actually exporting adjust the settings >Manage Presets. See attached for settings.

Import EPS into Fontlab Studio. Pay attention to the node-direction in "open letters", e.g. the letter "O" etc. Change node direction in Fontlab Studio if necessary.

So plain copy-paste does not work?

I think it rasterises it.

Had an hour to mess with this and you can copy/paste into Fontlab then use autotrace.

This is an example of the result from autotrace in Fontlab.

You can also use Separate And Trace which will trace an image and then separate each letter if multiple letters exist.
