Fahad Javed
Can we share files created and saved in an iPad Pro(2nd gen) and then open them in a Windows PC manipulate them and save them, are they compatible with each other?. Secondly, can we store affinity photo and affinity designer files in an ipad on an externally mounted drive based on the Lightning port. Lastly, can we copy affinity designer and affinity photo files in an ipad pro and then copy them to a Windows PC using iTunes?. Staff stokerg Posted July 27, 2018 Staff Share Posted July 27, 2018 Hi Fahad Javed, Yes you can share a Affinity file between IOS, Windows and Mac. You'd have to have the external drive connected to load the files and i'm not sure how external drives work with the iPad. While wouldn't advice saving directly to the external drive (this is the same for Desktops as well). You could save the file on the iPad and then move it to the External Driver with the Files app (hopefully someone with more experience of this setup will comment). You can't sync affinity files using iTunes, so you'd have to look at either saving to a Cloud service like iCloud and then opening the files from there or going the external drive route. Fahad Javed
Hi stokerg, Ok, what is the file path where the affinity designer or affinity photo source files are saved in an iPad Pro?. Can we send these source files via Blue tooth to a Windows Machine for further editing?. @All Members If someone has a workflow of working in Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo for iPad Pro and then to a Windows Desktop, kindly share your experiences with regards to transfer of these source files,i will be thankful to you all :). Staff stokerg Posted July 27, 2018 Staff Share Posted July 27, 2018 Just now, Fahad Javed said: Ok, what is the file path where the affinity designer or affinity photo source files are saved in an iPad Pro?. You'd need to save your .afdesign and .afphoto files from the Home screen of Affinity using the Save option as outlined in this video: https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/tutorials/designer/ipad/#/video/272724251 As for sending a file via Bluetooth from iPad to Windows, i'm not aware of a method to do this, it might be possible with a 3rd party app. I'm sure if anyone knows of a method they will post it Fahad Javed
