MDOT
How do you create a text in text in Affinity Designer? I am having a hard time trying to figure this out. Please see the image attached for an example of what I am trying to do
catlover
You can use "Word cloud" generator software. Search for Wordcloud software, there are various options: freeware, paid, online. I use Wordify, (Mac - AppStore). It has fixed templates, but you can also make your own. For text-shaped clouds, that would mean creating a template for each letter used in your text (for example the letter "V", "O", "R".) If you need a how to on making your own templates, reply to this post or send me a forum message.
Staff Dan C Posted July 26, 2018 Staff Share Posted July 26, 2018 Hi MDOT, Welcome to the forums! One way to do this would be to create the word you want to fill with test using the artistic text tool and font/size of your choice. Then select the text and use the Convert to Curves option on the context toolbar. Each letter is now it's own vector curve which can have text nested within it. Create one of the words to go within a letter using the Artistic Text Tool and then drag this layer under the curve so that it nests into it. You can now duplicate this until it fills the word, and as the smaller words are nested they won't appear outside of the curve. I've done a quick example below and attached my .afdesign file with history for you to scrub through work-words.afdesign
