Creation of 'Ghost' objects

Recommended Posts

Hello AD team!

First of all I'd like to thank you for creating these greaaaaaaaat apps which made me forget and uninstall Photoshop and Illustrator from my computer!

I've got one feature request for Affinity Designer (if not existing yet): I'd like to create a complex object and then duplicate it in some kind of 'Ghost' object (that's how I call it) that will have the following properties:

- the ghost object layers and properties cannot be modified except global position, scale, rotation or any transformation

- the ghost object is the exact representation of the source object

- when the source object is modified, then the ghost object is updated accordingly

My need is that I often have to duplicate my objects, and I also often make modifications on them and I always have to report modifications manually and I don't want to !

I hope I was clear enough ;)

Thanks in advance !

At the end the result is 0, because all three terms mean the same, i.e. ghosts = clones = symbols.  :D

Hello MEB,

Any indications as of when this feature will make it? I'm currently using Sketch but find it very buggy and waiting for this feature (and some others like multiple Artboards and Measure indicators) to consider jumping ship.

Thank you!

Phil
