Norlund
In Affinity Photo - how can I keep the Curve layer if I want to use it later? When I make a selection the curve layer disappears. Do I really need do duplicate layer every time before making selection?
Staff Dan C Posted July 24, 2018 Staff Share Posted July 24, 2018 Hi Norlund! I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure what you mean. Are you referring to a curves adjustment? The adjustment itself should not be disappearing when making a selection, could you possibly record a screen capture of your workflow? Staff Dan C Posted July 24, 2018 Staff Share Posted July 24, 2018 Thanks for that, the option you are using converts the curve you have drawn to a selection, meaning the original curve is not left behind. If you wish to keep the curve it will need duplicating first, but an alternative here is to use the freehand select tool with the shift key held down to constrain the selection to straight lines. firstdefence
Why not Cmd + Click (Ctrl + Click on Windows) the shape Layer, that keeps the shape and creates a selection. The shape will need a stroke or fill but once you have the selection you can hide the shape and only see the selection. Norlund
OK, thanks for reply. Then I need to duplicate. I normally work with the pen tool making very complex path/clippingpath in Photoshop. In PS, cmd+click the path to make selection and the do my color correction.
