guardoff
My main needs are really simple: just to draw the things I make, mainly in wood. So, mainly rectangles and straight lines, hairline thickness, no fill. But I do need precise dimensions. By historical accident, I have always done this work in Freehand, so there is a lot about the Affinity environment that is familiar to me. But what Affinity does not apparently have is the precious facility to place guides and then move the rulers' zero point to any point of intersection on those guides (to draw some extra element to a certain exact size, check particular dimensions within the drawing, etc). Does Affinity offer me some alternative way to do what I want to do here? I have the Affinity Work Book, so any answer that refers me to this text would suit me just fine. catlover
For Moving zero point rulers : look in resources section of forum. Accuracy = 2 decimal points. Read the How To file first. For lockable guides : create separate layer, place guides & lock layer.

I just came here to look for this feature myself. Great to hear it will be in version 1.7! That's one of the few things I"m still missing after my transition from Illustrator. Thanks! Morrislives
Has this been added yet? I've read all of the supposed methods to do this, but I can't find any of them in the interface. I have 1.7.3. Mac.
