We do not have a tool in place for creating patterns, nor a video for this either. You can start by watching this video. It's not an official video created by us, but it's a starting point. Yes, it would be useful. But so far, only Photo has built-in Pattern capabilities, via its Pattern Layer capability. Patterns in Affinity Photo are bitmap/raster patterns; in Designer we can use the Symbol feature to create vector or raster patterns.
