Affinity files formats extensions

Hi,

if files from Designer and Photo are interchangable, why they need different extension (.AFDESIGN, .AFPHOTO)? If it will be the same with Publisher files then only .AFF is needed and we can choose by right click which app to use for editing the files.

I prefer having the separate extensions. That way I know immediately which program I should open the file in.

Although I can open a Designer file in Photo, if I do so I'm likely to find there are modifications i want to make that won't be possible without switching to the other app. It's easier to just open it in the right app to start with.

Also, if I'm downloading a file then my OS can automatically choose the right program to open it with.
