I tried both files (left resaved) to open in older Word (2003), and the display is not the same. This is probably because the resaved has the font Calibri CYR, which I do not have installed, so I replaced it with some other font. This, in the end, may also be the reason why it will appear correctly in Affinity. Try to use some other font for interest. mac_heibu
I want to contradict, that placing/importing Word files is a „must“ for Publisher. In my opinion and according to my experiences, Word files are real poison in layout applications. Much to much troubles by using special characters and/or unprofessional formattings („k“ instead of cursive, „b“ instead of real bold faces and so on). When I was the head of a graphic/design department, we banned using Word files directly in the layout. The mandatory way was to import plain text and format it within the layout application. MikeW
And I'll contradict that...being able to import Word files in a layout application is routine and must be able to be done. I personally export all Word files out as tagged text and use that. But I doubt APub will ever be able to import QuarkXPress style tagged text (which I also use in ID via a plug-in). It's the absolute cleanest and quickest way to do layout.

Well, you may banned it in your firm, but can't do it in the real world where there are plenty of Word users who use it because they are used to it, not because they really need it. I don't think that the problem is in Affinity but in Word's export driver. Why else a RTF file from TextMaker works well and Word's doesn't? Petar Petrenko
It would be nice if Affinity try to make a filter that will import corectlly the RTF file which is damaged with Word export filter.
