sampl_e
Hi there, the option to open files and save them to dropbox would be a nice addition, as it would simplify shared work. As an example: We work on technical files which need to be reviewed and slightly tweaked, sometimes on-the-go. With iCloud Drive it is not even possible to share a folder, so it requires an unnecessary amount of steps to continuously work on the same project with collaborators. Or are you working on a different approach for shared work?! Thanks a lot!
Staff stokerg Posted July 18, 2018 Staff Share Posted July 18, 2018 Hi sampl_e and Welcome to the Forums, You can currently import files from Dropbox and even export back to Dropbox using the Document Menu and Export. The Export Persona currently has an issue where it can't export a slice to Dropbox and is logged with the Devs to resolve
sampl_e
Hi, thanks for the quick answer. Alright haven't thought about it that way and makes sense after you pointed out this option. Though I think it would be very convenient to have the dropbox option in the "new document menu" or a general integration of third party apps/services. It would make it easier to understand for less experienced users and an even smoother workflow.
darkhorsedynamo
Check out "FileBrowser" in the app store. It integrates with the iOS document picker and allows you to connect a huge variety of network locations. It a fantastic file manager for iOS and basically fills in the gaps where an app doesn't include native support for a cloud provider. Rocketdrive
“Open from Cloud” can open from any storage provider supported in iOS, including Dropbox. After altering the file, You can from the main screen then tap on “Save” to, well, write the changes back to Drobox - or other storage providers. After that You can safely close the file from the same menu. sampl_e
